Is Youtube & Facebook Earning Haram or Halal? Youtube Income - Dr. Zakir Naik

Renowned religious scholar Dr. Zakir Naik, during a lecture in Karachi, declared YouTube earnings as "haram" due to their violation of Islamic principles. Responding to a question about YouTube, Dr. Naik emphasized that while Allah provides generously, using platforms like YouTube that feature ads with women and music is impermissible. He pointed out that even with restrictions on alcohol ads, controlling the depiction of women in ads is nearly impossible. Despite having 24 million followers and the potential to earn through monetization, Dr. Naik refrains from doing so, citing that many re-sharers of his content misuse his videos by placing inappropriate images in the thumbnails for higher viewership. Dr. Naik further shared that although his videos are often shadow-banned and don’t receive as many views as they once did, his viewership has increased since arriving in Pakistan. He clarified that his focus is on spreading Allah's message rather than profiting from un-Islamic means. Dr. Naik encouraged the man asking the question to abandon YouTube influencing and instead turn towards Allah, assuring him that leaving behind ad revenue would not affect his livelihood but would instead lead to greater blessings.
