Genes, Alleles and Locus on Chromosomes

This video explains about Alleles and few genetic terms like Homologous Chromosome, Homozygous, Heterozygous, Genotype, Phenotype. Alleles are copy of genes controlling the same trait (phenotype). There are multiple alleles present controlling the same trait. Most of the multicellular organisms are having 2n of chromosomes i.e. Chromosomes are in pair. Chromosomes in pair are Homologous/alike to eachother. One chromosome is inherited from Mother & another from Father. Alleles are present on the same locus (position) of Homologous Chromosome. What gene express is Phenotype. There are four different alleles responsible for coat colour of rabbit producing different phenotype i.e. Agouti (wild type & dominant), Chinchilla, Himalayan & Albino.
