In this video, we explore the history of the C. L. Best and Holt Manufacturing merger that formed Caterpillar, how it became what it is today, and how their first tractor produced came to be. We dive into the engine, track design, operators' controls, and the many different variants that Caterpillar produced of this tractor. The CAT 10 was produced from December of 1928 - December of 1932. They made 4929 "normal" units, starting out in the original CAT gray/red color scheme, eventually transitioning over to the well known yellow/black colors in 1931.
