POTTING PHALAENOPSIS FROM MOSS TO BARK...how to move from moss to bark with minimal issues

When potting Phalaenopsis form moss to bark the transition can sometimes be a shock to the Phalaenopsis root system. Moss is more water retentive than bark and does not allow the same amount of air flow so your Phalaenopsis may experience a bit of shock. Generally, I will train my Phalaenopsis that I purchase in moss by reducing the watering and allowing the moss to dry out more each time. Once they are used to this drier cycle, I will repot into bark media. The two Phalaenopsis I am repotting today, P. Timothy Christopher x P. Amabillis and the P. Sogo Yakadain were both purchased at my local Lowe's. They are both potted in moss. One is dry as a bone, while other is sitting in soaking moss. I had initally planned to put them both in the same type of pot, but as you will see things do not always go as we plan.
