Nishio Sensei teaching Koshinage at Fukaya Dojo 11/12/92

This was a very rare night. Nishio Sensei would often show Koshinage as variations of techniques but rarely taught it in class. Too many people were older and could not afford to take these falls. This night there were four foreigners plus some Kanagawa University students and only one older man, perhaps in his 50's, so not too old. One of the foreigners was a girl just beginning. He showed more simple techniques for her. The rest were kind of young and genki (lively). He did two versions. The first entered between Uke's legs. The second moved the forward leg behind Uke's leg and bumped the knee forward to compromise the balance and stability.
