This change was driven by the demand for healthier options and required significant upgrades, including expanded cold storage and an updated trucking fleet, to better meet the community's evolving needs, especially during periods of increased food insecurity. The LA Regional Food Bank partners with over 600 local organizations across LA County to provide food and essential services to those in need. The pandemic worsened food insecurity, affecting seniors, children, and working families, while rising food costs have further strained resources. Despite these challenges, the food bank has adapted by expanding its services and partnerships, remaining a crucial support system for the community.
