PENGASSAN Protests Against Sterling Oil Over Worker Discrimination

PENGASSAN, the Petroleum & Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, has picketed the headquarters of Sterling Oil Exploration & Energy Production Co. Ltd., accusing the company of mistreating Nigerian workers. The union alleges that Sterling Oil prioritizes hiring Indian workers, even for menial roles, while Nigerians are primarily excluded from management positions. PENGASSAN now demands fair employment practices and compliance with labour laws to ensure Nigerian workers are treated equitably in the oil and gas sector.
