Grotta del Romito - Papasidero CS | Calabria, Italy

Excursion to the Romito Cave - Papasidero, CS - Calabria | documentary vlog. We are in the Pollino National Park, at the Romito Cave, in the municipality of Papasidero (CS). We're off to discover one of the most important prehistoric sites, perhaps in all of Europe. The cave is open to the public, and the entry ticket, which is very inexpensive, includes a guided tour of the museum, the educational trail, and the archaeological trail. This site is best known for the graffiti of the Bos Taurus Primigenius, or Aurochs. This is a large cattle breed, but it became extinct around 1600. This graffiti represents a unique masterpiece of prehistoric art worldwide. Many Calabrians—or rather, I'd say Italians—wouldn't even suspect its existence. The media have only started talking about this site in recent years. A place steeped in history, a spectacle I recommend everyone come see. Videos, photos, and editing by Carmine F.
