You may also like to know that Castaway Hill, the setting for this story, is believed to be inspired by the ancient town of Rye in the county of East Sussex, England. Like its’ fictional counterpart is described, it is a town on a hill overlooking marshes by the sea and, most interestingly of all, has its’ own rich history of smugglers and smuggling.
