Tucked in at Tuscan Island of Giannutri | Ep. 40

This episode covers our time in the Tuscan Islands of Giglio and Giannutri and the visit of our friends Steve and Christy. The island of Giglio is where the Costa Concordia cruise ship went aground and partially sank in 2012. Being the biggest marine disaster in Italy since World War II, I felt it was important to cover this event in some detail. We were able to enjoy Giglio despite the dark cloud of the previous ship wreck and we would encourage others to visit it. After leaving Giglio, we sailed to Giannutri and took advantage of the geologic shape of Giannutri to protect ourselves from a substantial wind that had been kicking up the surrounding waters for several days. Tucked in, we were able to enjoy swell-free swimming and snorkeling!
