Red River Valley - Command Brass of the RCAF Band

Red River Valley” is a traditional song of Manitoba and has had great popularity in North American folk music. It’s generally believed that the song was composed during the Wolseley expedition in 1870 as troops left the Red River Valley in Northern Manitoba. Because of its ties to the Red River Valley, the song is recognized by the Canadian Armed Forces Music Branch as the traditional song of Manitoba and is often performed in a march style arrangement during military parades. Today, the RCAF Band’s brass quintet “Command Brass” takes us on this journey to the Red River Valley with Scott Irvine’s arrangement of this Canadian classic. #RCAF #RCAFBand #CommandBrass #FolkMusic #CountryMusic
