We spent a peaceful weekend at a pet friendly pool villa in Hua Hin, followed by a hike to the incredible Phraya Nakhon Cave in Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park. This is our version of slow travel in Thailand with our dog. 🛣️ The road trip Leaving the city behind. A stop at a roadside mixed-rice shop for sweet pork and fresh coconut. Two and a half hours of highway, then Hua Hin. 🏡 Pet Friendly Hua Hin villa A private pool villa tucked away from everything. Ada's first swim. Late afternoon light on the water. Slow morning, no alarm. 🥾 The hike A 50-minute drive south to Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park. Then a 430-metre forest trail — dense green, rocky in parts. We did not come fully prepared: we bought water and mosquito repellent. We didn't bring any hiking shoes though. 🕳️ The cave Phraya Nakhon Cave opens into a vast chamber with a collapsed roof — sunlight pours through like a skylight. Inside: the Kuha Karuhas Pavilion, built in 1890 to commemorate King Chulalongkorn's visit. It sits there in the beam of light, waiting.
