I Saw Her Standing There - The Beatles (lead guitar cover) - Gretsch Duo Jet

Here’s my take on George Harrison’s lead guitar part from I Saw Her Standing There, the rocking opener to The Beatles’ debut album, Please Please Me. After recently coming across a newer isolation of George’s lead, I realised there was far more going on than I’d originally thought. I went back and broke it down note for note to reproduce it as faithfully as possible. George’s playing throughout the song is sporadic yet genius with its tasteful licks and solo which is a highlight for me. That early Duo Jet and Ac30 combo is something else. To fill the gaps around George’s part, I laid down a quick bass track on the Hofner. Next time I borrow the Rickenbacker 325 I plan on re-recording the whole cover. But for now, I hope you enjoy the video!
