Ford Festa Coil spring Replacement

Watch Marc Replace a Drivers Front suspension coil spring on a Ford Fiesta. this suspension set up is really common so this applies to most McPherson strut construction type suspension assemblies. remove the bolts attaching the hub to the strut, as well as removing the pipes, cables and anti roll bar link. then when everything is detached, remove the final three top mount nuts and release the strut. be careful when removing, you don't want to catch any wires or brake pipes. also good to note that you shouldn't let the hub fall too far toward you as you can risk the driveshaft coming out of the gearbox. it's rare this happens but its good to just be aware of it. there are a variety of different tools you can use to compress your coil spring but i'm using a type that I find convenient. This way you can secure the strut in a vice and use the tool for the spring swap. always be safe when compressing coil springs. always follow health and safety procedures for the tools you are using to prevent injury. once you've swapped everything over and you're happy, re-fit everything in the reverse order you removed it and test drive, don't forget to torque the wheel nuts! when replacing anything to do with steering or suspension its good practice to get the tracking checked/adjusted, this can prevent uneven wear to your tyres after carrying out the work.
