How the Rio Grande river is Killing New Mexico !

The Rio Grande River is unequivocally the lifeline of New Mexico. Wildfires, extreme heat and the drying of the river has become more frequent and now it flows at dangerously low levels as well. And it is a serious concern for the state of New Mexico especially because the state already hangs on a knife's edge when it comes to poverty, unemployment and limited opportunities to grow. Moreover New Mexico is predominantly a desert state. Mining, agriculture and cattle farming are major sources of New Mexico's economy. However unfortunately, these industries heavily depend on water availability.
