Frank Kettnaker – Was bleibt?

When language is the tool and people the product, the true essence of sales is revealed. Frank Kettnaker, who is leaving the ALH Group after almost four decades, looks back on an era in which trust wasn't standardized, but rather given and lived. His most important insight: Those who want to venture into new territory and shape markets need an environment free from the fear of failure. Because only from psychological security can the courage for genuine innovation grow. In a world with artificial intelligence, the role of the intermediary is fundamentally shifting. The machine may analyze highly complex data in milliseconds, but it cannot simulate empathetic intuition. Frank therefore sees the future of sales not in the disappearance of humans, but in their evolution into coaches. AI will become a technological necessity—comparable to a driver's license that one has to learn—while humans take on the more advanced role: the final meaning-making, the critical questioning, and the emotional safety net in existential life decisions. This transition, however, requires profound mindfulness. Where blind standardization forces mere scaling, personal connection risks being lost. This makes it all the more important to break down rigid silos and consistently think cross-functionally. Frank chooses a powerful image for his own farewell: his successor is the windshield, he himself merely the rearview mirror – and the windshield naturally needs to be many times larger to safely clear the way forward.
