I Am Yours and Yours Alone

Description: Romantic Jazz Bossa Nova    • Top Jazz Love Ballads - Summer 2026   In the beginning, God looked at the man He had made and said: it is not good for man to be alone (Genesis 2:18). And from the man's own side — not from his head, not from his feet, but from the place closest to his heart — He fashioned a companion, a helper, a bride. And the man said: this is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh (Genesis 2:23). Two became one. Not two standing side by side. One. This is a song about a man who has understood what those ancient words actually mean — and has decided to live them with his whole, imperfect, kneeling life. I am yours and yours alone. Not partly yours. Not yours when it is convenient. Not yours on the condition that the road stays smooth and the nights stay short and the plans never unravel. Yours. Alone. With everything he has and everything he lacks, placed into her keeping before the living God who joined them. He does not come to her as a finished man. He comes as a river made for the valley — pouring himself out not because he has an abundance to spare but because pouring is what he was made to do. He comes as a cracked vessel — fractured by his own failures, still carrying the love entrusted to him, knowing that the treasure inside the clay jar belongs to God and not to the jar itself (2 Corinthians 4:7). He comes on his knees, asking to be led back to the altar stone every time he stumbles, asking for grace to wash her wounds with the gentleness of a husband who has learned that love is not a display of strength but an act of surrender (Ephesians 5:25-28). She is his harbour bell. His compass reading. His roof beneath the widest sky. And he loves her the way Christ loved — breaking Himself open so others could be made whole, laying down armour at the foot of the cross, tending the flame of a covenant that burns new each dawn because it is fed not by human effort but by the inexhaustible grace of the God who lit it. The Song of Solomon says: I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine (Song of Solomon 6:3). This is that song. Spoken by a man who means it. Not as poetry. Not as sentiment. As a life. Lived daily. Begun each morning with empty hands and a full heart. I am yours. And yours alone. Before God. Before the altar. Before the dawn that finds them still together. Yours. Only yours. Always yours. Until the flame itself becomes the light of eternity and the cracked vessel is finally made whole. I Am Yours and Yours Alone [Verse 1] Before the living God I open my hands I place all of me Into your keeping Not to possess you But pour myself out Like a river made For the valley below [Pre-Chorus] Lead me back again When I stumble and fall To the altar stone Where my forehead knelt Every morning new Empty, then filled again A cracked vessel still Carrying your love [Chorus] I am yours and yours alone I am yours and yours alone Shelter me, keep me I will come home I am yours and yours alone I am yours and yours alone Take all I offer I am your own [Verse 2] Be my harbour bell My compass reading The roof I come home to Beneath the wide sky I will love you true Watchful in the dark Gentle in the healing Steady when cold comes When the plans unravel And the ground gives way My imperfect heart Will still kneel here [Pre-Chorus] Lead me back again When I stumble and fall To the altar stone Where my forehead knelt Every morning new Empty, then filled again A cracked vessel still Carrying your love [Chorus] I am yours and yours alone I am yours and yours alone Shelter me, keep me I will come home I am yours and yours alone I am yours and yours alone Take all I offer I am your own [Bridge] As Christ broke open For the whole world I break open too And lay down pride Armour at the cross Flame in the lantern Love kept sheltered Burning new each dawn [Final Chorus] I am yours and yours alone I am yours and yours alone Shelter me, keep me I will come home I am yours and yours alone I am yours and yours alone Forever I’ll be I am your own
