Riding the Dangerous Elephant Highway in Botswana: Motorcycle Adventure to Victoria Falls! - Ep. 3

This is Day 4 of our epic 14-day wild Africa motorcycle adventure! After an incredible night camping less than 2 meters away from a massive wild bull elephant at Elephant Sands Lodge, we gear up to tackle the notorious A33 highway. Our destination today is Kazungula, a unique border town where four countries meet: Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Riding deep sand on road tires is no joke, but we quickly hit the tarmac to navigate 250km through the heart of African wildlife country. The A33 definitely earns its nickname as "The Elephant Highway". On this stretch, we find roadside elephants, a symbiotic herd of zebras and impalas, and even guard a brave leopard tortoise crossing the highway. As we approach Pandamatenga, the wild bush completely transforms into a magnificent, bright yellow carpet of sunflowers stretching as far as the eye can see. But the unseasonal heavy rains have turned Chobe National Park into a lush green ghost town, keeping the apex predators like lions and hyenas deep in hiding. Before the day ends, we get completely lost trying to locate our remote campsite on the banks of the crocodile-infested Zambezi River.
