Heavy rainfall in Molise and Abruzzo has caused extensive damage on Tuesday evening in the two central and southern regions. On Thursday morning, the Adriatica state road 16 was split in two by the collapse of a bridge over the Trigno River in the municipality of Montenero di Bisaccia. Landslides and collapses also occurred in the hinterland of the province of Campobasso. In Pescara, the Trigno River burst its banks, flooding the floodplains.
