Wailua River cruise on my Solar Electric Sailing Catamaran -SolGato

A relaxing Sunday cruise up Wailua River on the Hawaiian island of Kauai. Navigating shallow water and exploring rivers until they turn into streams has never been easier now that full electric tilt and trim has been added to SolGato via wired remote control. I also took this opportunity to retest a modified Torqeedo prop to see how it performed at different trim settings with regard to performance and power load. At the end of the video, I demonstrate SolGato’s agility using independent forward and reverse thrust of her motors to do a 360 panoramic without losing ground, and highlight the trim and tilt design while demonstrating the integrated kick-up feature which allow the motors to kick up regardless of their trim setting in the event of an object strike. Fun fact, this River has been in more than a few major motion pictures ranging from Disney’s more recent Jungle Cruise to the other end of the spectrum budget-wise, DinoCrock vrs SuperGator.
