Want to extend your EcoFlow with a 5kWh external battery? In this video, we demonstrate how to quickly and safely connect an external 48 volt LiFePO4 battery to an EcoFlow power station and configure the system for reliable operation. Please enable the subtitels in YouTube for an explanation with the steps. ⚠️ Do not update the firmware to version V1.0.2.176 (from July 2026) or later. Universal 5kWh batteries only charge to about 60% state of charge when V1.0.2.176 is installed. The current to the external battery port is limited and charging stops as soon as the Ecoflow unit is full. Consequently, the capacity drops from 1+5 kWh to approximately 1+3 kWh.
