Skyline lift at Pebble Creek, 18 Jan 2025 (notes)

Skyline lift at Pebble Creek, Idaho, 18 January 2025. Small hill, local mountain, about 20 minutes south of Pocatello. Only two lifts (plus the bunny lift), both fixed triples, one that gets you halfway up the mountain, and this one that puts you at the top. Small, yes, but still super great fun. The layout of the mountain reminds me a bit of Incline Village at Lake Tahoe, with terrain matching the areas around Snake Creek at Brighton. But the map lies. It has the green bunny hill section, and the one cat track that winds back and forth, which is also marked green. I’d probably mark that cat track blue. And then a whole bunch of blues and blacks, and a couple doubles, according to the map. Well, just about everything marked blue on the map is actually marked half blue half black on the mountain, and if it were up to me, all of those runs would be single black. Because this place is steep. The raw acreage totals might not be so impressive, but the terrain is just about straight up and down. So really, this place is the green bunny hill section, the blue cat track, and everything else is at least single black. And it’s a blast. Upper Stacy’s was rockin’ this whole day, and I found all sorts of other fun stuff. Definitely gonna be on my list for once per year. Oh, but if lifts had difficulty ratings like runs do, this one would go black diamond for sure. This one hits you fast, and lifts you up as well as forward immediately. I have another video where I almost went full faceplant trying to load up this one, but the guy next to me saved me from such embarrassment with some really quick reaction by grabbing me and pulling me back into the chair. I’ll post that one sometime soon.
