MSB ‘from the archives’ - Songs of the Morning (Eric Ball) Canada 1991
The first two movements are transcriptions of the composer's own songs, one a carol, 'Welcome, happy morning' and the second 'Begin the day with God'. The last movement introduces a well-known Army tune, with special reference to the quotation 'Bright day shall dawn, and sin's dark night be past'. This classic number was featured in the band's 'Canada Live' concert in Winnipeg on 23 April 1991.
