1950s GEC 10" Oscillating Fan

Hey Everyone! Here is a GEC 10" Oscillating fan that I got finished up on. It arrived in the mail a couple days ago as of typing this, but it needed some work done to it before I could film it. So this is pretty much the finished result. Firstly, the back guard has snapped clean off its welds, but thankfully I got a pretty poor example in this more uncommon colour earlier this year and still had parts from it, so I swapped that out, but before I did that, I had to dig even deeper into this fan to discover what was preventing it from oscillating. The main gear had fallen out since these fans have no covers. Quite an easy fix and away it went. Now these are constant oscillators so unfortunately, the gears do wear down overtime on these fans like you see on this one. I replaced the lead on this fan to make it safter to use. The original was starting to fray a bit. Finally and the last thing I did was print out the GEC badge that these fans had, it completes the look of the fan and makes it feel more like a GEC fan. Unfortunately, the glue dries up on these fans causing the badges to fall off. I haven't seen many with the badge. I ended up adding the screws and washers from the old unit on this fan since the previous owner wedged tape to hold the guards together. Unfortunately, from the back guard being broken previously, it did cause some scratching and paint damage but it isn't too heavy and all things aside, I still love this fan!
