WYE HERE? Exploring Wye Kent and the Kent Downs

Join me on a stunning circular walk in the southeast of Kent, starting and ending in the charming village of Wye. This route follows the North Downs Way and Kent Downs AONB, offering some of the best views in the county. We begin with a climb up to the iconic Wye Crown, where a breathtaking panorama of the Weald of Kent unfolds before us. From there, we continue along the dramatic Wye Downs ridge towards the legendary Devil's Kneading Trough, one of Kent's most unique natural formations. On the way, I come across a WWII Mustang plane, a surprising and poignant reminder of the area’s wartime past. The route then descends through a peaceful valley and the picturesque village of Brook, before the final stretch across open fields gives a view of the Wye Crown from below. Perfect for spring or summer days, this walk is a mix of history, nature, and incredible scenery.
