Steamrail Victoria's 2026 Newport Workshops Open Days is a biennial event where the public is granted access to the Newport Workshops Rail Yard in Newport to explore Victoria's Railway Heritage and Preservation Groups. Steamrail Victoria is the main preservation group who are a volunteer run organization that preserve and restore Victoria's heritage steam locomotives, vintage diesel locomotives, carriages and electric trains. They run regular tours throughout the year to keep the locomotives running and giving the public an insight on what it was like to ride on trains in the past. 707 Operations is the other organization that run regular tours with R707.
