Tire Pressure Monitor (TPMS) malfunction - After "Resetting Tire Pressure... 49%" FIX!

It came on after not being able to reset the tire pressure (it would stop at 49%). It was not cheap, but here's what I learned. If you have more info to add, please do so in the comments below.
