A viral trend involving the Chinese BAT-BMS app has raised serious concerns among e-rickshaw drivers across India. Reports claim that some people are allegedly using the app to remotely stop e-rickshaws and then posing as technicians to charge drivers ₹200–₹300 to restart them. The case has come under police investigation in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, where an accused has been detained and officials are probing whether a larger network is involved.
