Barrio Centenario: Orlando Medina y su histórica trayectoria en Colón | MI CLUB DE BARRIO #99
In this edition of My Neighborhood Club, we explore the Centenario neighborhood in the city of Santa Fe, an area characterized by its strong community identity and deep sense of belonging. The life of the neighborhood is closely linked to the red-and-black institution located there, shaping the daily rhythm and the pride of its residents. The program's central focus is the second part of the interview with Orlando Medina, a true legend of Club Atlético Colón. In a pleasant conversation with Enrique Cruz, Medina recounts his beginnings in professional soccer, recalling his journey from Uruguay and the significant challenges he faced upon arriving in Argentina at the age of 17 to join the club that defined his sporting career. The conversation delves into unmissable anecdotes about his arrival at the club, the negotiations with his agent Italo Jiménez, and emblematic moments of his career, including his debut against Colón of Uruguay and his outstanding performance against Boca Juniors in 1964. These stories allow us to reconstruct part of the rich history of Santa Fe football from the perspective of one of its most beloved figures. In addition, the series includes a segment on the Las Cardenillas complex in Arroyo Leyes, highlighting its recreational opportunities and connection with nature for families. The musical finale features Juan José Piedrabuena, a local artist who lends his talent to this event dedicated to culture, sports, and community identity.
