How we use Cognitive Science to Design Healthy Spaces

As we look beyond architecture, we are fascinated by the design insights gained from cognitive science, experience design, and active design principles to create spaces that are healthier, more intuitive, and aligned with how our brains work. Our partnership with BYBORRE is a testament to this vision. Together, we developed three fabric concepts—Calm, Curiosity, and Focus—designed to enhance or balance sensory experiences throughout the day. By bringing together architects, product designers, sociologists, and cognitive science experts, we’re creating solutions that are not only innovative but deeply connected to the people who use them. As NeoCon 2025 in Chicago comes to a close, our colleagues Filippo Lodi, Ren Yee, and William De Boer had the opportunity to share UNS’ approach to cognitive design and our exciting BYBORRE collaboration. This event provided a great platform to explore how we’re reimagining the built environment through innovation and multidisciplinary thinking. We are looking forward to absorbing all the insights gathered by the UNS team at NeoCon to continue pushing the boundaries of cognitive design in our work. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eefhMMEs
