The River Never Doubted | Trusting the Deeper Current

Inspired by Victoria Falls, Murchison Falls, and the timeless wisdom of rivers. Part 4 of the Africa Song Cycle: Five Songs of Awakening. The River Never Doubted was inspired by two unforgettable encounters with water during my journey through Uganda and Southern Africa: Murchison Falls on the Nile and Victoria Falls on the Zambia-Zimbabwe border. At both waterfalls, the experience began the same way. First came the sound. Then the vibration. Then the feeling of immense power moving somewhere just beyond sight. Only afterward did the water reveal itself. Watching the river rush toward the edge, I found myself reflecting on trust, surrender, and abundance. The Nile does not doubt its direction. It does not hesitate at the precipice. It simply follows its nature. This song explores what I came to think of as flow consciousness: the realization that life often knows more than fear does, and that awakening may have less to do with controlling the current than trusting it. Africa Song Cycle: Five Songs of Awakening This collection of original songs was inspired by a transformative journey through South Africa, Uganda, Rwanda, and Victoria Falls. Each song explores a different form of consciousness awakened through travel: • Hush Now — Ecological Consciousness • Tuli Wamu — Kinship Consciousness • Obuntu — Relational Consciousness • The River Never Doubted — Flow Consciousness • Soweto — Historical Consciousness If this song resonates with you, please like, subscribe, and share. I'd love to hear: Where in your life are you being asked to trust the current? Composed and produced by Donnamarie Mazzola with the help of AI-assisted vocal production and artistic composition.
