The pie, however, is non-alcoholic but still uses crème de menthe for that signature minty flavor. Here’s what typically goes into a grasshopper pie: Oreo cookie crust: Made from crushed chocolate cookies and butter. Marshmallow or whipped cream base: This gives the pie its fluffy, light texture. Crème de menthe: For the mint flavor and the green color. Crème de cacao (optional): For a subtle chocolatey undertone. Whipped cream: Folded into the filling to add extra fluffiness.
