From The Archives Season 1 ● Episode 1 Dr L Subramaniam and Sigbjørn Bernhoft Osa (on fiddle) were interviewed for a Norwegian National TV, after which they performed together with Viji Subramaniam (on tanpura). ▶︎ About the Artist - Sigbjørn Bernhoft Osa (3 May 1910 – 2 February 1990) was a Norwegian fiddler and traditional folk musician. He was one of the best known Norwegian performers of folk music in the 1900s. Viji Subramaniam was the daughter of noted North Indian singer Lakshmi Shankar and Rajendra Shankar, elder brother of sitarist Ravi Shankar. Like her mother and uncle, Viji was a musician and well-trained in both of the Indian classical systems. ▶︎ #FromTheArchives is a video series of treasured masterpieces from Dr L Subramaniam's vast collection of records and logs.
