1971 Moto Guzzi Ambassador - Episode 20 - Rebuild the Dellorto VHB 29 Carburetors - Part 2

This is my Moto Guzzi Ambassador. I've had it for about a year now, in this condition, and now is the time to refurbish it. The engine has been upgraded to an 850 Eldorado and has been upgraded to a 5 speed transmission, with an Eldorado rear drive. I acquired this bike from a seller on the East Coast of Florida, and it was not in running condition. I do not know if I cranked it over when I bought or exactly was was done. Nevertheless, now is the time to get it running. Here is what I plan on doing initially: 1. See if we have compression 2. See if we have spark 3. If we have low compression, perform a leak down test on the cylinders 4. Take the heads off and see if we have iron liners or have nikasil plated cylinder bores. 5. Evaluate what to do after performing these tasks. If the bores are still chrome-lined, I am going to upgrade the cylinders to the 1000cc big bore kit. If lined or nikasil plated, then change the rings and rebuild the heads. That is my plan at this point. Also, I will probably sell this bike shortly. It is time to thin out the herd and give someone the chance to really run this bike!
