Zermatt Ski Resort is the most scenic ski resort I have ever seen, and 67 percent of the runs are easier and intermediate (23% easier/44% intermediate). 33% of the runs are advanced, and there is plenty of designated free-ride off piste/off trail terrain. Zermatt’s statistics are impressive: 7,477 vertical feet of skiable elevation (2279 meters); 155 miles of piste trails (250 km); longest ski run 9.9 miles (16 km); Zermatt has 18 primary lifts including chair lifts, gondolas, trams, trains and funiculars. There are 40 some total listed lifts. Zermatt ski resort has spectacular views of the iconic Matterhorn and the incredibly beautiful Swiss Alps. Italy’s Cervinia ski resort is interconnected with Zermatt in Switzerland.
