TRIBUN-VIDEO.COM - New facts were revealed in the corruption case implicating Deputy Minister of Immigration and Corrections (Wamen Imipas) Silmy Karim and his associates on Thursday (June 4, 2026). A total of 35 State Civil Apparatus (ASN) at the Directorate General of Immigration for the 2019-2025 period had financial transactions totaling Rp 366.7 billion from 96 accounts. This was revealed by data from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK). KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto explained that 3 percent of the funds came from salaries and allowances. The total of that 3 percent was IDR 9.7 billion. The other 97 percent allegedly came from applicants for immigration services. The amount reached IDR 357 billion, which came from visas, passports, employment, and residence permits. He conveyed this information during a press conference at the Red and White Building in Jakarta on Thursday (June 4). The perpetrators were known to have complicated the process for residence permits and foreign national applications. This was done as part of the modus operandi of the bribery. Silmy, while in office, allegedly asked for a "tip of the money" from the foreign nationals' residence permit processing. Funds were allegedly withdrawn for each document processing. Several accounts were then used as collectors to collect fees from each permit processing. From this practice, parties at the Directorate General of Imipas/Ministry of Imipas directly received at least IDR 145.5 billion. The money was distributed to officials within the Ministry of Science and Technology every Friday. Silmy Karim reportedly received a regular allowance of Rp 100 million per week.
