This program was planned and produced over a year to present viewers with life, healing, and the beauty of living in harmony with nature through the four seasons of a beautiful garden and the stories of the people who create it. ■ Her Hidden Garden - Korea's First Wildflower Garden A secret garden lies on the shores of Seorang Lake in Osan, Gyeonggi Province. It is the wildflower garden of Ahn Hong-seon (83), who has been gardening for over 40 years. The garden, filled with over 800 species of flowers and trees, offers a constantly changing beauty. Ahn Hong-seon's wildflower garden, started by a woman who couldn't forget the wildflowers that filled the backyard of her home in Hamgyeong Province during her childhood. Her garden, nurtured over decades, has become so beautiful that it won the 2006 Beautiful Gardens Private Residence category award. The vividness of the backyard of her hometown inspired her to plant wildflowers. That house was truly beautiful, and I will never forget it. From the words of grandmother Ahn Hong-seon (83) ■ Gardens, a space that heals with life Nothing is beautiful from the start. This wildflower garden was no exception. Her return to the lakeside wasteland, where she planted wildflowers one by one, and through her care, she collected seeds and shared them with others, resulting in a garden unlike any other, resembling a meadow. Until now, Ahn Hong-seon (83) always had a sickle in her hand. Working all day in the sun without makeup, she developed age spots, but she considers them to be just flowers blooming on her face. Born with a frail constitution and prone to illness, she credits the blessings of sunlight and the healing power of flowers for her current healthy life. ■Garden, a Gift of Inspiration The garden not only provided Ahn Hong-seon with her health, but also inspired her quilts and poetry. Her garden diary, kept for over 20 years, captures her life with flowers in poetry, and her works, called "story quilts," are filled with garden stories. Thanks to the flower chickens that enliven the garden and her husband who silently cares for his wife, who dedicates her life to it, Ahn Hong-seon is still happy with flowers. Let's explore her life, which resembles flowers, in her garden.
