in loving memory of winter

you taught me the courage of stars before you left. how light carries on endlessly, even after death. - winter was truly a legendary animal. she fought so hard throughout her entire life and persevered through so many hurdles. she inspired so many people around the globe. her story touched the hearts and changed the lives of so many people. when i was much younger, i truly thought to myself "if that dolphin could survive losing it's tail, i can get through this" when i was facing challenging times growing up. if my 4th grade teacher didn't share with us the inspiring story of winter the dolphin in 2011, i don't know that my passion for these animals would've sparked the same. if i didn't watch the dolphin tale movies, i don't know if i would be as passionate for these animals as i am today. she truly changed my life, and i can't thank her enough. although i never got to meet her, i know i will see her one day. thank you for everything, winter. you are so loved. - footage belongs to cma and dolphin tale.
