KGSP Interview Embassy & University Track

Background (Embassy T) They invited ~quintuple (x5) the quota (15 people for 3 seats) They called us to confirm the interview date Not enough time to prepare (Called on Monday, interviewed on Friday) They were 3 Koreans and 3 locals They had our application forms and documents on the desk The interview took between 10~15 min Language: We chose either English or “French” (each country is different) Background (University T) Sometimes they conduct 2 interviews, one with a PhD student /admission committee at the same department and a second interview with a professor from that same department. They emailed after ~1 week of the application deadline to confirm interview date which usually takes place 3 days after. After 1st interview they emailed to confirm the 2nd interview date which takes place ~3 days after. Some scholars were never interviewed (either because some universities don’t conduct interviews or some professor are already familiar with the applicant) Both interviews took from 10 to 15 min each The interview is most of the time in English, unless the applicant chooses Korean Questions Tell us something about yourself Education background and relevant working experience Why korea Talk to us about your research subject Why you chose that subject and why you chose to conduct it in korea What’s your plan/ goal after the scholarship Experience with korea/Korean culture 50% of the other questions were based on key information I mentioned in my application. Results  (Embassy T) They called after 2 days (weekend) They selected around double the quota (6 out of 15) They mailed our applications and documents to NIIED NIIED selects the final scholars (3 out 6)
