Trains on the Bennett Brook Railway; Whiteman Park Perth (October 2022)

In this video we visit the Bennett Brook Railway, a heritage railway situated inside Whiteman Park in Perth's north eastern suburbs. Bennett Brook Railway utilises 2 ft (610 mm) narrow-gauge and operates on approximately 6km of track; the Bushland Loop around Whiteman Park and a small branch to Mussel Pool. The railway opened on the 8th December 1984 and is proudly operated by the West Australian Light Rail Preservation Association. Bennett Brook Railway is the only heritage railway in Perth. We visit the railway on two subsequent days in October 2022. This was during Western Australia's fire season so only diesel trains were operating. On my first visit locomotive no.2 'Rosalie'; a 1950 Fowler locomotive was operating the service. On my second visit no.7 'Planet 7' which is a 1939 Planet locomotive was operating the service. We see the trains from various vantage points around Whiteman Village Junction station which is the main station on the railway (and has a direct interchange with heritage trams on the Perth Electric Tramway Society).
