Welcome to Lostalgia I go by Jason Plates, and I made this mix as a way to show off the Lostalgia soundscape. This is 80 minutes of tracks that I've collected and created over the years, all chasing the feeling of Lostalgia. It spans many genres and BPMs, to tell my story of the joy of what was, the grief of losing it, and the slow work of finding hope again. This mixtape contains house, vaporwave, synthwave, indie rock, techno, UKG and more, all in pursuit of the lostalgia sound. Every photo you're seeing was cut from my own wallpaper picture archive. Collected and taken over decades, I have a whole archive of photos from throughout my life and from others that capture 'lostalgia'. Shoutout to The Old Oligarch and /comfy/ threads on /wg/ for many of these. I have used Davinci Resolve and ffmpeg tools to sync the photos to the music and to create the kaleidoscope effect. All done in house, no stock footage, no outsourcing, no generative AI. No social media, no algorithm. Just music made for people who still sit and listen.
