Paramount Television Logo History (EXTENDED UPDATED VERSION!!!)

The logo history of Paramount Television (along with CBS Studios and CBS Media Ventures) essentially began in 1966 with an American television production company named Desilu. Paramount Pictures Corporation and Norway Corporation co-owned the copyright to TV shows produced under both the Desilu and the Paramount Television logos, and Desilu was rebranded as the original Paramount Television in 1968. Paramount Television was also a division of Paramount Pictures Corporation, with the first logo being the "Rising Circle" logo in 1968, and the second being the "Closet Killer" and "Split Box" logos from 1969 to 1975. In 1966, Paramount Pictures Corporation was acquired by conglomerate company Gulf+Western Industries, Inc., the company that owned record label Stax, book publishing company Simon & Schuster, and Japanese video game company SEGA. Paramount Television's third logo was the "Blue Mountain" logo from 1975 to 1987. Also, in 1987, Paramount Pictures celebrated their 75th anniversary of the studio's foundation in 1912, so a fourth logo was introduced by Paramount Television, with a painting rendered by matte artist Dario Kempaniel. The 75th anniversary notice was removed in 1988, with the same painting rendered by Kempaniel. In 1989, Gulf+Western was rebranded as Paramount Communications, Inc. In 1995, Paramount Communications was rebranded as Viacom. In 2002, Paramount Pictures celebrated their 90th anniversary of the studio's foundation in 1912, with a new CGI logo being devised. The 90th anniversary notice was removed in 2003, and in 2006, CBS Corporation made negotiations with Paramount Television. This led to a rebranding of Paramount Television as CBS-Paramount Television. CBS-Paramount Television also had two logos, one featuring a rather turquoise colour scheme, and the other being used for 3 years. A distribution company called CBS Television Distribution was also formed by CBS Studios, Inc., in line with the new name being used on copyright notices. In May 2009, CBS-Paramount Television rebranded itself as CBS Television Studios. ViacomCBS took control of CBS Television Studios on December 4, 2019, and CBS Television Studios rebranded itself as CBS Studios in October 2020. It was around this time that CBS Television Distribution rebranded itself as CBS Media Ventures. In 2015, Paramount Television was established as a second-era studio. ViacomCBS acquired Paramount Television on December 4, 2019, when the studio rebranded as Paramount Television Studios. The Paramount byline wasn't included in the CBS Studios and CBS Media Ventures logos until 2022, when the ViacomCBS byline was removed from the Paramount Television Studios logo.
