Driving in Panama City - Causeway - Calzada de Amador

Amador Causeway is a road in Panama City that connects with three islands in the Pacific Ocean (Isla Perico, Isla Naos and Isla Flamenco). This road was built with rocks extracted from the canal construction works, specifically the excavation of the Corte Culebra in the canal. The Amador Causeway was built in 1913 by the United States government during the construction of the Panama Canal, this site originally belonged to part of the United States military and was known as Fort Amador established for the protection of the canal. . Currently the Amador Causeway is one of the most important tourist spots in the country, home to the main yacht docks, museums and a recently built cruise ship dock.
