Jaitak Fort, Nahan (Himachal Pradesh) – A fort full of history and mystery Jaitak Fort is situated on a hilltop in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh, about 15 km from Nahan. This fort was built by Gorkha Sardar Amar Singh Thapa around 1810, when he invaded the region. This is the same place where a fierce battle took place between the Gorkha army and the British. The remains of that war can still be seen in the ruins of the fort. What is special about Jaitak Fort? • Being situated on a high hill, a wonderful view of the valleys and mountains around is visible from here. • This place is still calm, mysterious and full of historical importance. • The surrounding environment is extremely picturesque and pure, making it an ideal place for trekking and photography. How to reach: Jaitak Fort is easily accessible by road from Nahan. It can be reached in 30-40 minutes by private vehicle or taxi.
