I'm finally getting around to reviewing later titles in the Mega Man X series... I can't keep avoiding it forever... Huh? What does that mean? To be honest, I've been avoiding reviewing later titles in the Mega Man X series because I've felt it was difficult to give an appropriate evaluation to the series for many reasons. I've been making videos for the X series since the early days of my channel, and I've been wanting to compile review videos, so I thought it was about time to face them head-on and start today. Mega Man X5...what kind of game is it...? So, let's take a look for the first time. Mega Man X5 is the fifth title in the Mega Man series. Up until now, a new title had been released almost every year, including the original series, but Mega Man X4 was released in 1997. This title was released in 2000. In other words, it was released three years later. I wonder what happened to this series? I don't know why it took three years. At the time, I was so desperate for a sequel that I played Mega Man X4 over and over again. I remember playing it so much that I was amazed at myself. I had already gotten rid of my Super Famicom by this time. Did I get rid of it? I don't really remember if I got rid of it of my own free will. But in Mega Man X5, just like in X4, you start the game by choosing one of the two main characters. Does that mean you'll only use one character from start to finish in this game too? No, this character select in this game is used to choose whether or not each character can use some of their equipment. X can use the Force Armor, the armor that was revived from the previous game, and Zero can use the Z-Buster until the end. Well, the Z-Buster is completely useless... It was brought back, but it's useless... The Z-Buster's capabilities are similar but completely different from those used before X3. As Ototo-san said, it's not as versatile as the Force Armor, so there's really no need to use Zero. Apart from that, this game, like X3, features a great many ambitious new elements and multiple endings, which makes the system much more complex.
