DC 3 at Wolverhampton Halfpenny Green Airport, UK on 20 May 2026

The arrival of Douglas DC-3 N341A at Wolverhampton Halfpenny Green Airport on 20 May 2026. The aircraft was, built in 1939 and I think amazing to consider that, as I took footage of its arrival today, it is now 87 years old! It was once the world's only C-41A, flying with the USAAF with serial 40-70. It was withdrawn from use in late 1945 and placed in storage, before being rebuilt as a regular DC-3 by Standard Airlines in December 1951, using parts from other airframes. It was registered as N341A in 1999. It arrives at its new home at Halfpenny Green from Coventry Airport, which will sadly officially close on 11 June 2026.
