Nouvelle génération de données pour services climatiques - A. Ribes, A. Bel Madani, A. Champouillon

“Towards a New Generation of Data for Climate Services at Météo-France”: Discover the September 2024 webinar from the TRACCS research program presented by Aurélien Ribes (CNRM), Ali Bel Madani (CNRM and ENM), and Aude Champouillon (IGE, former intern at Météo-France/DCSC). Météo-France recently launched two projects to establish a “Common Foundation of Climate Projections” for mainland France and its overseas territories. The aim is to provide state-of-the-art datasets, based on the latest generation of global CMIP6 simulations, that can feed the next generation of the agency’s climate services (e.g., DRIAS, Climadiag, targeted studies, etc.). Efforts are planned to explore model uncertainty, internal variability, and integrate high-resolution models. This webinar briefly outlines the main planned work, including: the use of global models, dynamic downscaling (regional models), statistical downscaling (AI), bias correction, and indicator calculations. The needs of a wide range of users of national climate services are also presented, as expressed in a recent survey. This work, consistent with and aligned with the issues and objectives of TRACCS, will benefit from interactions with the research communities gathered there, which this webinar helps to foster. ➡️ To learn more about TRACCS and receive announcements about upcoming webinars and the monthly newsletter, contact: [email protected] 🔗 TRACCS also invites you to connect with them on: LinkedIn:   / traccs-transformer-la-mod%c3%a9lisation-du...   and on their website: https://climeri-france.fr/pepr-traccs/
