The seeker should not move during meditation. *Reason*: Many divine powers are awakened; changing postures frequently deprives you of them. During *meditation*, pain in the legs is relieved; the life force rises. You must sit firmly; after a while, the pain will automatically subside. Example: To set curd, we must keep the vessel steady and provide the appropriate environment... otherwise, the curd will not set... Before *meditation*, one should visualize the form of the Guru, pray to Him... and go deep into meditation. Sadhana is not done to concentrate the mind; rather, it is a means to control the mind. Example: When you get yourself examined on a machine, it is not for concentration... but you know that whether you understand something or not, the machine understands the doctor. Therefore, sadhana should be done with complete faith and patience. Sit with *resolve*... do not check the time repeatedly, set an alarm, or ask someone to sit! Only those who are self-discoverers can do *sadhana*. In *sadhana*, observe anything that troubles you with a witness; it is the devilry of the mind... Sadhana provides benefits just as a single seed of corn or millet yields a hundredfold fruit. Similarly, its fruits are beyond your imagination, but the condition is that you practice with a selfless spirit. Even if you are unable to shed any of your vices even after continuous sadhana, do not be perturbed...Deep stains, deep trees, and the sanskars of many lifetimes take time to go away, but they must one day go away!
