How to fix a car that stalls no engine light on

My 2003 dodge ram 1500 started to stall randomly. No stumbling, jerking it would just lose all engine power, gauges would drop, dash lights would come on. This would happen with no warning no engine light or rough engine. After doing tons of research i learned alot of people had this problem and there were multiple things to cause this to happen. Since there wasn't a engine light or a code to tell me what the issue was i had to start eliminating the problem. of course i started with the easiest and cheapest first not to waste time and money. after trying a handful of things it ended up being something with the coil packs or pack. i went ahead and replaced all eight coil packs and that seemed to fix it .
