The trail is breathtakingly beautiful and you come across the views of the Machapuchare and Annapurna South. My total spendings on ABC were approx. NPR 20k (Kathmandu to Kathmandu), which comes down to INR 12,500. The best part was we did the entire trek without any support :) So yes, going here alone or without a guide is possible. Some details regarding the cost are given below - 1. Permits: TIMS card can be purchased in Kathmandu and Pokhra for NPR 1,000 2. Buses are available from Pokhara airport to Ghandruk, however, I reached late in the evening and took a taxi instead 3.
